Representative Mo Brooks Claims Discriminating Against Whites Is Legal...

Representative Mo Brooks (R- Ala) recently said, "If you look at current federal law, there is only one skin color that you can lawfully discriminate against. That’s Caucasians — whites."

As I see things, it's not so much that we can legally be discriminated against, it is that ALL OTHERS have been put into a legally PROTECTED CLASS in which whites and Christians were intentionally not included. The law does NOT say, "It's legal to discriminate against white people", it just doesn't give whites the special protections that "minority groups" enjoy. This arrangement ignorantly presupposes that whites are the only race that improperly discriminates against others.

Discrimination is a product of prejudice, and prejudice is a LEARNED behavior - there is no innate "dislike of the unlike". People are not BORN instinctively 'hating' ANYBODY for any reason... they acquire their dislikes from interactions with others. Some prejudices are inherited, much as physical characteristics are inherited. The "authority figures" in one's life, have great influence upon the nurturing development of one's personality and character.

If Dad and/or Mom have a strong dislike of people of color, that dislike will be taught - unthinkingly, subliminally, or intentionally - to the child. But, our "authority figures" range far afield - teachers, clergy, peers and the extended family, compose those who influence our development. If the hate mantra is repeated often enough by many (or most) of those figures it becomes ingrained, because the expression of identical feelings are reinforced by praise and recognition from those we consider "important" in our life. Such 'learning' is not entirely inherited, some is based upon personal interactions and negative experiences... BUT, the background of prejudices expressed by others, does make one hyper-vigilant when dealing with those who are 'different'.
The "bottom line", however, is that when there are SPECIAL PROTECTIONS put in place for SOME, there is no longer "EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW" as established by the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Equal Protection Clause was implemented to ensure the fair treatment of ALL legal citizens of the United States. That's my 2¢ worth...
