Public Law 112-95 - The FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2011

This bill should really be called "The Bleed The Taxpayer Dry Act of 2011", inasmuch as it has authorized funding for the FAA of approximately $3.35B per year for the period 2011-2014. The costs for this one government project are $100.69 per person (and increases their $49,752.84 share of the national debt to $49,853.53 [source: Congressional Budget Office] ). Just what we don't need - another $13B+ of debt.

 

According to WashingtonWatch.com, this "law" - as is true with most legislation - was basically sold to the highest bidder! In the House, whichever side provided the greatest monetary incentive - Yea or Nay - got the nod (with a handful of exceptions who apparently voted for the people). All of Utah's representatives voted for H.R. 658 - now PL 112-95 - and in the Senate, Orrin Hatch chose not to vote at all.

 

Have our lawmakers not heard that we are not only BROKE, as a nation, we are in debt (primarily to China) to the tune of $15.6 TRILLION DOLLARS! Since September 27th, 2007, our national debt has increased at the rate of $4.02B per day! And there is no end in sight!! Has everybody in Washington D.C. gone totally INSANE? How will we ever pay off such indebtedness? Increase taxes levied upon the citizens, of course. Perhaps not directly as "taxes" per se, but by insinuating "fees" and "charges" into everyday activities. An example is the 1% transaction "fee" on each and every banking transaction, as proposed by the Obama administration. Make a deposit - personally or by Direct Deposit - of $1,000 and your account is debited $10 for the privilege of making that deposit. Write a check for $500 and your account will reflect a $5 "fee" for that transaction... a business transaction in which the government itself has no investment of time, labor or money! What is the difference between this activity and "protection money" paid by small business owners to street thugs? Such a governmental action is nothing more than legalized (by imperial fiat) extortion of the taxpayers!

 

Can we stop this financial bloodletting by our elected representatives? Maybe... but ONLY if we let them know that we are onto them, and that we will do everything we can to insure they are not re-elected if they continue along this path.

 

As I said in my opening paragraph, this is only ONE of the hundreds of pieces of cost-ignorant legislation passed by Congress each year. If we allow it to continue, perhaps we are as stupid and indifferent as they seem to think we are. If so, we deserve whatever they choose do to us!

THE "RIGHT" TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS?

There has been much discussion over our Constitutional guarantee, as explained in the Second Amendment, of the "right to keep and bear arms". The divergence of understanding of this right is not one of language, but rather one of reader intent. In our Constitutional Republic, unlimited power is not automatically bestowed upon the government to cavalierly change those first ten amendments - also known as "The Bill of Rights". According to the Constitution, which at least for the time being is - ostensibly - the supreme law of the land, our government gets its power from the consent of the people! And, how do we exercise that "consent"? By way of elected "representatives". These "representatives", for more than a century and a half, have represented their own best interests... which are determined by a minuscule (but wealthy, influential, and therefore powerful) portion of their constituency. Can we correct this gross deviation from the intent of our Constitution? Idealistic desires aside, my answer is probably not.

Corruption is self-propagating, and corruption is rampant within our government. Not just in the present administration, but most likely in all administrations since our founding. In the beginning it may have been just a few minor officials who were corrupt, but corruption spread like a cancer to all levels. Today, our elected officials are simply better at concealing their corruption than were their predecessors and foreign counterparts. They are like rodents, in that for every one that is exposed for corruption, there are ten others that haven't yet been discovered. There are few persons of true "honor" left in the world of politics. Why would I say such a thing? Because in today's world it takes many millions of dollars to mount an election campaign. and where do politicians get that money? For the most part from donors. Oh, sure, you donated - but your ten, twenty or even one thousand dollar donation is insignificant. If you are lucky, you will get a letter of thanks from the campaign headquarters, complete with an electronic signature from the candidate. "Every man has his price", is a well-known quote from Robert Bolt, author of "A Man For All Seasons", referring to Thomas Cromwell's corruption in the service of his King. Cromwell's price - power - was met by the King, and to fail the King would result in the removal of Cromwell's power... and his head. The less obvious, underlying tenet in that quote was a reflection of Sir Thomas More's philosophy: "The integrity of oneself should be one's major goal. Without it, life is really not worth living. Death is unpleasant, but losing that part of oneself that guides our actions on the path that we deem to be correct would be unbearable." A philosophy in which principles cost Sir Thomas his own head. Politics is ruled by the fear of possible loss... loss of stature, loss of reputation, loss of position, loss of power, loss of money, and in extreme cases, the possibility of loss of life, etc. But, I digress...

The First Amendment requires that: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." It establishes basic individual freedoms concerning religious belief (or non-belief), the freedom to speak against those things we determine to be inimical (even within our government) to our Constitutional freedoms, it protects the left-wing media as well as the minority right-wing media, and our right to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" (such as forcing Obamacare upon us, and the so-called "Patriot Act", which identifies military veterans as "potential terrorists", etc.). The Second Amendment received the prestigious second spot because it insures the citizens right to protect all the other rights and freedoms established by our Constitution. A citizenry, disarmed, are called subjects. They cannot protect themselves, or their countrymen, from the whims of those who would rule rather than govern. It was said in "Cato's Letters" (England, early 1720s) that "Power is like fire. It warms, scorches or destroys, according as it is watched, provoked or increased." Power, when not watched and controlled, is also all-consuming. The more power an individual (or government) has, the more they want.

A government that is unanswerable to its people is a dictatorship. Ours has not yet reached that stage of development. They are still technically answerable to the people... they just choose to ignore our inquiries and our expressed desires! Why? Because Big Brother knows better what is right, fair and just for its people, and they will determine what rights and freedoms are appropriate for those of us with less intelligence than they, and relatively little power to change things. We have three choices: vote for a different, but no less corrupt replacement, at the ballot box; reinstate the same corrupt individual at the ballot box; or, as Thomas Jefferson once said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." As unpalatable as the third option may be to Americans, is it not better than the loss of our Constitution, our freedoms, and the consequent subjugation and enslavement of a free people? (The downside to a second American Revolution would be that all those who envy and despise us [i.e. - the 191 "United Nations"] would seize such a discordant opportunity to conquer, subjugate and enslave the survivors of such an action, and then divide the spoils among themselves.)

THE SECOND AMENDMENT IS THE FOUNDATION OF "HOMELAND SECURITY"! Without it, we have none. The current administration (Obama, Clinton, Holder, et al) has designs upon dismantling as much of the Constitution as meets their desires to rule. Should they be successful in infringing upon our Second Amendment rights, all the other rights will fall like standing dominoes.

But, that's just the way I see things. Perhaps my world view is naive... idealistic... perhaps it is "radical"... or perhaps it is realistic. No matter... it is what it is. And, at least for the time being, my world view is protected under the First Amendment, which is protected by the Second Amendment. I do not encourage a second American Revolution, but I do see it as a possibility when individual freedoms are infringed upon or removed by any government.

OBAMA RELEASES "LONG FORM" BIRTH CERTIFICATE

WASHINGTON – Responding to critics' relentless claims, President Barack Obama on Wednesday produced a detailed Hawaii birth certificate in an extraordinary attempt to bury the issue of where he was born and confirm his legitimacy to hold office. He declared, "We do not have time for this kind of silliness."

Well, that should put an end to the debate... or should it? The article goes on to say that "the question was raised during his campaign". If it was, then why wasn't the question answered satisfactorily then? And, if the issue was "silliness", why didn't Obama put a stop to the "silliness" long before now by producing the long form certificate? Or, perhaps it took this long for one to be created for him. A forged certificate? Heavens no! No upstanding, honorable politician would even consider creating a document where none previously existed. (Oh, my error... honorable and politician are mutually-excluding terms, and I have seen no proof that the two terms can logically be combined when describing a politician.)

The "citizen/non-citizen" debate was allowed to continue for so long, and there was major confusion reported - even among Obama's African relatives - regarding to his birthplace, that I can't help but think that anything is possible in this case. And, with sufficient money and power, anything IS possible.

We Americans are a gullible lot. We tend to believe those politicians who tell us the lies that we want to hear, and I suppose that is just human nature. Tell us that you're for something that we want ourselves, and we'll support you!

God save us from our own stupidity!

AND THEREFORE, THE LEAST INCLINED TO ACCEPT PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! The following is a BIG part of the problem...

From today's news - "SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – A lawsuit that seeks to stop McDonald's from selling Happy Meals must be dismissed because parents can always prohibit their children from eating them, the hamburger giant said in a court filing.

The lawsuit claims McDonald's unfairly uses toys to lure children into its restaurants. The plaintiff, Monet Parham, a Sacramento, Calif. mother of two, claims the company's advertising violates California consumer protection laws."

The article goes on to mention names and Mickey D's position on the lawsuit (if I was on the jury hearing the case, this woman wouldn't stand a chance, and I would never change my position). Here's how I see it...

If you don't want the kids to hassle you for the Happy Meal, don't take the little bastards to McDonald's! Take them somewhere else for lunch or dinner. Or, here's a really unique idea - fix their meals at home! DON'T blame the seller if you buy something for your kids that you don't want your children to have. But, I suppose that suing somebody else for your personal inability to parent your kids, is better than being forced to admit that you can't accept your parental responsibilities and simply say, "No. You can't have that because it's not good for you. It may taste good, but it's not good for the rest of your body."

Then the situation is compounded by courts that will actually hear such ridiculous cases... which simply encourages more idiots to file suit to protect their self-image. It seems that most people would prefer to pin the blame on somebody else - especially if that somebody else has a very "deep pocket" - rather than exhibit self-discipline in matters of child rearing. And, they will do so every time, rather than examine their own fragile ego for flaws.

The legal profession has been guilty of "looking out for their own" for centuries. Judges today are the end-product of practicing lawyers, and they are keeping other lawyers cash flow positive with every lawsuit heard, no matter how groundless it may be. That explains why baseless lawsuits, that 50 years ago would have been dismissed as "frivolous" and a waste of the court's time, are allowed to go forward today. Inasmuch as 90% of our law makers are lawyers, that explains why our laws have become so complicated that the common man can no longer understand his rights, and why common sense has been effectively banned from our court system. The lawmakers feather their own nest, and the nests of their legal brethren, by insuring that Joe Average cannot understand the laws that govern his daily behavior. Should Joe find himself afoul of the law, he is defenseless without the expensive services of an attorney.

Citizens today will be greatly disappointed if they go to court expecting justice. With all the technicalities now built into the system, the main purpose of which is to protect legal practitioners, justice is an extremely rare commodity. What the plaintiff or defendant will get is a king-size helping of law, which is frequently lacking even a side order of "justice". To correct that we need panels of at least three judges, two of whom have common sense and have never practiced "law". It would then be incumbent upon the trained judge to convince the majority which party should be the victor in any case - civil or criminal.

But, that's just how I view systemic stupidity in our country. Stupidity, along with corruption, is rampant in all branches of our government... from municipal government to the federal government, what we have is the best government money can buy. We should all have that kind of money... or perhaps, less expensive lawyers.

Government Control Is Not Needed Where Obama Wants It!!

Your government wants to stick it's bureaucratic nose into everything that affects average, working-class people. Everything except those areas it should be investigating and regulating more strictly! For example...

"NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. reported quarterly earnings Thursday that easily beat analysts' expectations on higher crude prices.

The world's largest public energy company reported net income of $7.56 billion, or $1.60 a share, in the second quarter, up 91% from $3.95 billion, or 81 cents a share, in the same period in 2009.

Earnings for the first half of 2010, excluding special items, were $13.9 billion, up 60% over the first half of 2009." (Emphases added)

Yes, my friends, that is Billion with a capital "B". The concept of a million of anything is difficult for most of us to envision, and the term billion just boggles the mind. Maybe this will help get it into perspective - a billion minutes ago, Christ was alive. Here's a picture showing the relationship between one thousand, one million and one billion -

There is a 6" difference between the million point and the billion point on this line. (A trillion [a figure our government loves to throw at us] would be marked 500 feet to the right of the billion mark.) Now, think of that number in terms of dollars - the dollars you spend at the gas pump, the dollars you spend for groceries, the dollars you spend for clothing... and your tax dollars!

Diesel fuel, the least refined and least expensive to produce, currently hovers at around $4 per gallon. More than premium gasoline! Do you still wonder why the cost of "goods and services" is skyrocketing upward? Understand that goods do not magically appear in Wal-Mart at the beginning of each business day, nor do groceries breed on the shelves of your local Kroger or Safeway grocery stores when the lights go out. These items are transported to every retail store in our country by diesel-fueled delivery vehicles, whether they be 18-wheelers, railroad trains, or a combination. The oil companies have taken our nation hostage! And your government has not done - or even said - a thing about it. It's areas like this that we need government mandated price caps! The workers of this nation need gasoline to get to and from their place of employment in order to earn a living so they can afford to buy those goods and services. Gasoline now costs between $3.25 and $3.65 per gallon and the price is increasing almost daily! The excuses used by big oil are "There's unrest in Saudi Arabia", "The middle east crisis is driving our costs up", and "It's the Yemeni problem". What's wrong with this picture? The problem is Big Oil's corporate GREED! Individually, or even collectively, We The People can do next to nothing about it directly. Government intervention mandating price caps is the only solution.

How do we get that done? Write, email, or telephone your elected Congressional Representatives - including Senators - and tell them that We The People need relief from the price gouging oil corporations economy-crushing GREED!

(Because our national economy is "in the dumper", China is campaigning at the U.N. to have the U.S. dollar replaced by the Chinese yuan as the "reserve currency". For those of you who may not know exactly what the "reserve currency" is, it is the global currency of international trade. If China is successful in their bid, it will further diminish the U.S. in the eyes of "the global community".)

Obama's Aunt says U.S. OBLIGATED to make her a citizen

Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, came to the U.S. from Kenya in 2000 and was denied asylum by an immigration judge in 2004. She was granted asylum earlier this year by the same judge who said she could be in danger if she returned to her homeland. Isn't it interesting how political events in a host nation, such as the United States, can impact a particular person's security if they are returned to their homeland after being found ineligible for asylum 6 years earlier?
Of course, we all know that politics never enters into any governmental entity's impartial decisions on any matter... don't we? The fact that Zeituni's nephew, Barack Hussein Obama, was elected president of the United States in 2008 had absolutely nothing to do with the decision of the administrative judge in 2010. What a fine example of "equal treatment under the law" this is!

"THEY" WANT OUR MONEY - STOP GIVING IT TO THEM!

"They", in this case, being the liberal-progressive socialist-Marxists who presently control the White House, the DOJ, and the House and Senate.

How To Return Our Nation To Its Intended Course

"The Idiot's Guide to Voting"

(for those of you who apparently do not have a clue)

1. If you are dead, please do not allow ACORN, or any of its recent progeny, to pressure you into voting for anybody. You are not eligible! No matter what the people in Chicago may tell you, dead people cannot vote. As do most criminals, ACORN has developed aliases for many of its branches.

For example, Affordable Housing Centers of America was formerly ACORN Housing. The new corporation has the same tax ID and employer identification number as ACORN Housing, which received millions of dollars in funding from the Department of Housing Urban and Development.
In Missouri, Jeff Ordower, a former head organizer for ACORN in that state, founded Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE), which focuses on jobs, education and housing advocacy.
Other groups that bear a striking resemblance to ACORN are the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, New York Communities for Change, New England United for Justice in Massachusetts and Arkansas Community Organizations. And the list grows almost daily. Combined they make up "The Organization Encompassing Just American Minorities", or TOE JAM. The stench of corruption remains - a skunk still stinks, even if you call it a "woods kitty".
2. Give up voting the "party ticket". If you truly wish to see America remain the land of the free, don't vote for somebody just because they are a Democrat or Republican. Vote for somebody you believe will do their best to return America to its intended course, regardless of their party affiliation... but make sure the candidate is viable. If you are a registered Democrat and you think the Republican candidate will do a better job for our country, vote for the Republican. (If you're a Republican and you think the Democrat will do a better job, go home and take your meds.) As much as I like the idea, voting for a 3rd party candidate is - at this point in time - throwing your vote away, and by so doing you help the moron you could have voted against. If you vote for somebody who actually stands a chance of becoming elected - even if they lose - you will neutralize 1 vote for his or her moronic opponent. Every splinter party takes votes away from potential winners, and right now we have about 6 splinter parties that I know of. As much as I hate to say it, Presidential elections are presently won only by Democrats or Republicans. Not that either party necessarily deserves to win, but they are established, recognized and organized, and there is no single, strong 3rd party that can successfully challenge them.
3. Don't accept a politician's word for anything! Go into the voting booth knowing full-well that politicians are professional liars. They will tell you what you want to hear during their campaign, and then do whatever they damn-well feel like after elected. Politicians should be rented to farmers, because politicians are the perfect self-propelled manure spreader! Look into the candidates VOTING RECORD to discover who they really are, and then vote accordingly.
3. We need honor, courage and wisdom in our government. Obviously the vast majority of the incumbents are lacking any of those character traits, so let's replace them in November with people who have demonstrated those traits. Vote against those incumbents who failed to heed the voice of the people during the past two years - even if you have to write-in your own name.

REALITY CHECK: It takes BIG money to run for national office, and BIG money comes from BIG business, and BIG business considers campaign money more of an investment than a "contribution" or "donation". They expect to be repaid BIG! If all we working-class Americans threw a couple of dollars at an honest, courageous and wise candidate, he or she might just do the job they are elected to do... without being owned by big business and special interest groups. What we do not need are more elected officials whose main concern is, "What's in it for me?" rather than, "How does this benefit our country?". Those who sold their votes on the health care bill should be the first to be sent home.
4. Do not vote for anybody supporting larger government and higher taxes. Larger government requires higher taxes to keep it running! Don't let anybody tell you differently. The government performs no income producing function other than taxing the people it "serves"... and we ain't getting our money's worth, Bubba!
Stevie Wonder could see what it will take to restore the Republic. "Hope and Change" is what we need, but we need to work for the changes it will take to restore our hope. Our government doesn't just have a "boo-boo" that will heal itself if we leave it alone. It is suffering from the all-consuming CANCER of the left-wing, Marxist, socialist-progressive agenda, and if we choose to ignore it, it will kill the USA!

Remove the cancer - refresh the House and Senate this November.

Show them that We the People are paying attention!

What We Are NOT Doing To Protect Our Nation

The United States government has, for all intents and purposes, left our southern border (primarily) unprotected, and our northern border nominally protected. Inasmuch as the southern border is where the vast majority of illegal immigrants sneak into the USA, to continue the practice of basically just recycling illegals is not only asinine - it borders upon criminal.
The primary function of the government is to protect the citizens of our nation and our national sovereignty, yet we fail to secure our borders in a satisfactory manner. This failure endangers both our sovereignty and our safety! The Federal government has failed to complete the border fence that was authorized by Congress several years ago.
There are numerous "safe haven" cities where illegals are ignored by law enforcement agencies, which creates an air of de facto acceptance and basically allows them to live in those communities with immunity. The government rewards their breaking and entering into our country with free medical care and welfare payments. An Arizona rancher was recently murdered by an illegal alien.

The Governors of two states - Texas and New Mexico - have taken appropriate action, ordering their respective National Guard units to assist the U.S. Border Patrol and local law enforcement in patrolling and securing their portions of our southern border. Why haven't Arizona, Louisiana and California done the same?

I'm beginning to believe that I.C.E. (Immigration Control and Enforcement), an agency under the Department of Homeland Security, thinks illegal aliens should be treated like some species of fish - catch and release - only to have them return again and again!

GET THE FENCE BUILT, PROVIDE NO AMNESTY OR SERVICES FOR INVADERS, AND USE THE NATIONAL GUARD TO ACTUALLY DO WHAT THEIR NAME IMPLIES - GUARD THE NATION!

I could be wrong about this... and Congress could listen to the voices of the people. Neither one is likely...

RIOT SHOTGUNS ORDERED BY U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION!

I find it interesting - in a perplexing way - that the U.S. Department of Education in Chicago, Illinois feels a need for 27 Remington Model 870 pump-action shotguns, with 14" barrels (4" shorter than the ones you or I could legally buy without a federal tax stamp) and Ghost Ring rear sights, at a cost of $35,000 when the country is in a financial crunch. First I have to wonder WHY the "Department of Education" needs combat-ready riot shotguns. Then I have to question their sense of fiscal responsibility and integrity when it comes to fraud, waste and abuse. A similar Mossberg Model 500 "Cruiser" shotgun can be had for $435 RETAIL, with the exception of a 14" improved cylinder barrel (which Mossberg could probably modify an 18.5" barrel to satisfy that requirement for almost no charge). Just for arguments sake let's say Mossberg would sell their modified 500 Cruiser model to the government for $400 (and I'm certain that it would be considerably less), which calculates to just $10,800 - for a net savings of $24,200. I own a Mossberg 500 shotgun - it's 25 years old - and it still works like new. How can people who supposedly investigate fraud, waste and abuse in the educational system justify that kind of waste within their own agency? The purchase order ends with:

Snownami Shuts Down Federal Government for Two Days

DID ANYBODY NOTICE? DID ANYBODY EXCEPT THE POLITICIANS CARE? Could it be that our current administration is so ineffectual, and our Congress so lame that this interruption to government went unnoticed by the majority of the country?

Rather than being received as an "interruption to government", many of us saw it as a relief from government. When government works against the will of the majority of the people it becomes tyrannical. When it works against the best interests of the nation it becomes traitorous. People appreciate relief from either one of those concepts.
This is the year to save our Republic! Replace the left-wing progressives in D.C. with true conservatives, who understand and respect our Constitution and the traditions upon which our once-great nation was founded! The key word there is CONSERVATIVES. Not just Republicans... and don't ignore conservative Democrats - although they are few and far between. We need the Captains of our "ship of State" to save it - not to scuttle it as they are doing today. We need those who are both fiscal and social conservatives controlling our government, and between now and November there will be more "special elections". There are large numbers (around 35 as I recall) of liberal Dems retiring or choosing not to seek reelection to their office.

THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO CORRECT THE COURSE THE ADMINISTRATION HAS CHOSEN!

Opportunities such as this only present themselves once every four years. Governments such as our current one present themselves only once in a lifetime... for which we must be THANKFUL! Do your part - cleanse our national leadership of those supporting the Marxist/Socialist political philosophy - vote CONSERVATIVE in 2010!

TRANSPARENCY BEHIND CLOSED DOORS - One Party Involvement Is NOT Bi-Partisan

When the final vote is taken on the unwanted Obamacare bill, it will be behind closed doors and Republicans will be excluded from the process. It seems to me that excluding either party from a vote usurps our "representation"... such as it is.

At the beginning of the first American Revolution it was proclaimed that "Taxation without representation is tyranny!" Inasmuch as Obamacare will be funded with our tax dollars, and subsequent increases therein, it logically follows that eliminating the Republican party from the process is tyranny! A large percentage of the population is being denied their representation on a tax-dependent issue. If, by design, we do not have full and complete representation, during the process of debate over a bill that will increase our taxes if passed, then we are faced with an act of tyranny.
Or... is there something I don't understand about how a unilateral, partisan government action - one that forces unwanted additional taxes upon its people to support programs which the majority of those people do not want - escapes the definition of tyranny?

Senate Passes Health Care Bill - Ignoring Citizens Expressed Wishes

The AP lead-in reads - "WASHINGTON – Senate Democrats passed a landmark health care bill in a climactic Christmas Eve vote that could define President Barack Obama's legacy and usher in near-universal medical coverage for the first time in the country's history."

Let's dissect that sentence:

"Landmark health care bill" - Yes it is. Only because the people never wanted it in the past, and the Congress actually listened to them back then.

"Climactic Christmas Eve vote" - More of an anti-climactic and cowardly vote. With a Democratic majority it was a foregone conclusion that the bill would get the necessary 60 votes. The real question was how much those last few votes would cost the American people in terms of political PORK! How much were the holdout political whores selling their votes for on Christmas Eve? And that idiot Harry Reid's adding the pressure of a Christmas Eve vote - knowing that such timing would undermine any thought of prolonging the process throughout the day - pretty much insured rapid passage by those 60 who lack any hint of integrity. They now have their 30 pieces of silver.

"Define President Barack Obama's legacy" - That's the real reason for the passage of this very expensive, very destructive bill by the Senate... to give Obama a victory of some kind, even at the expense of the citizenry. His legacy is already "defined" as one of appalling incompetence in all areas other than destroying the American economy for decades to come... Obama has done a fine job of that!

"Near-universal medical coverage" - One more step toward destroying our economy and making the once-free American people increasingly dependent upon the government. You don't add millions of people to any program without incurring additional costs, and Obama's voodoo math says we will save money! The only way we will "save money" is by increasing taxes for four years prior to providing any health care benefits. How does that "save" us any money?

Congratulations are in order for all those fine Senators who cast their votes to assist Obama in ruining the United States of America, against the wishes of "We the People". Enjoy it while you can, for on November 20th of 2010 we shall remember! Of course I am assuming that we will still have free elections in 2010, and that could prove to be a faulty assumption...

The Arrogance of Our Elected Officials - It Must Be Contagious!

In all probability the epidemic of arrogance begins in the White House and trickles down from there, infecting Congressional and the Senatorial "representatives" of the Democratic Party. Our most recent exposure to this virus was recently presented by Senator Charles E. "UpChuck" Schumer, D-NY, who made an ass of himself on a recent airline flight. Little Chucky decided he didn't need to follow the rules against using cell phones on aircraft prior to reaching altitude, and argued with the flight attendant who asked him to end his conversation and turn his cell phone off. After being told the flight would not leave the ground until he complied, he did so, telling his seat-mate (another Senator from NY) that the flight attendant was a "bitch". YOU'RE A REAL CLASS ACT, UPCHUCK!

Then we have yesterday's incident where twenty senators are demanding an investigation into reports the Obama administration threatened to close Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if that state's Democratic senator, Ben Nelson, didn't join other Democrats in voting for health-care reform. How's THAT for political leverage? For those of you who may not understand the importance of Offutt AFB to our national security, Offutt is the home of the Strategic Air Command (now just the "Strategic Command"), the headquarters for ALL our heavy bombers! Well, as of this afternoon, it appears that Sen. Nelson still has a pair.
According to Newsmax.com, "Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson — the moderate Democrat whose opposition is holding up the Senate's health care bill — says new language on abortion doesn't satisfy his concerns.

Nelson told KLIN radio in Lincoln, Nebraska, Thursday that an attempt at compromise doesn't get to the fundamental issue of barring federal funding for abortions.

Nelson says without further changes the compromise isn't sufficient.

Catholic and anti-abortion groups have also weighed in against the new language, which attempts to separate public from private funding of abortion.

Democrats are wooing Nelson in order to get the 60 votes needed to pass a sweeping health care bill by Christmas.

But Nelson said abortion wasn't his only concern and he didn't see how the Christmas deadline could be met."

GOOD ON YA, BEN!! It's nice to know that somebody on the left side of the aisle isn't a knee-jerk reactionary in support of just any crap that his President and party throw at the people of this country. Obama must really be getting desperate to threaten our National security - not to mention the immediate unemployment of 10,000 Nebraskans if Offutt were to be closed.

Next there's the U.N. "Small Arms Control Treaty". In fact, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just announced in mid-November the Obama Administration would be working hand in glove with the UN to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.”

Disguised as legislation to help in the fight against “terrorism,” “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates,” the UN Small Arms Treaty is nothing more than a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme. Of course, we all know that "terrorists, insurgents, and international crime syndicates" are law-abiding folks who legally buy and register their weapons... don't we?
Ultimately, the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms owned by private citizens like YOU. And by so doing, the left hopes to circumvent our 2nd Amendment rights under the guise of an "international treaty". Does al Qaeda pay attention to UN mandates? Does Iran? Does North Korea? Does ANYBODY? NO!

So far, the gun-grabbers have successfully kept the exact wording of their new scheme under wraps.

As for Obama's "transparent administration", it's about as transparent as Mount McKinley. Closed door meetings - some totally closed door, others just closed to Republicans - with bans on the press and other media show us exactly how "transparent" the current administration isn't.

Now Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are petitioning the government purse string holders (Congress) for a budget boost of $400,000,000,000 each by year end. That's a total of $800 BILLION that we're supposed to get from WHERE? Well, we'll just borrow it from our good buddies in Communist China. We are bleeding GREEN folks! What little money "Joe Average" may have in the bank won't be worth a tinker's dam by the time the current administration is done mortgaging our country to the rest of the world!The reason for the year-end panic is that Fannie and Freddie don't want to take the chance that the upcoming election year will change the makeup of the Congress to the point that fiscal conservatives may - once again - take control of our nation's checking account.

Oh, and while we're on the subject... the FDIC is also asking for billions of dollars. They apparently expect that there will be many more bank failures during the coming election year, but nobody is telling us that! More "transparency"...

So far the only "jobs" (to speak of) that have been created by Obama's minions are government jobs and government training for government jobs. Obama's "jobs" plan is one of increasing the size of the government Behemoth, thereby increasing citizen dependence upon the government for their livelihood and all things related thereto! There's less resistance to his socialist agenda that way.

Cap and Trade - We have all heard the term, but we may not all understand the practical aspects of it. If "cap and trade" is passed, the end result - admitted to by Obama - is skyrocketing energy costs! Now that's something we really need, when many of us who are retired can barely afford heating costs in the winter already. Doubling our energy costs would certainly be one way to reduce the population - the elderly would be freezing to death during the winters. Why do we need "cap and trade" anyway... when we can reduce our energy costs by tapping into existing resources on U.S. soil? The "Bakken Formation" in North Dakota is estimated to contain BILLIONS of barrels of sweet crude oil! The following is an excerpt from a paper entitled "Bakken Formation Reserve Estimates", by Julie LeFever and Lynn Helms (emphases added):

"A landmark paper by Dow and a companion paper by Williams (1974) recognized the Bakken as
a tremendous source for the oil produced in the Williston Basin. These papers suggested that the Bakken was capable of generating 10 billion barrels of oil (BBbls). Webster (1982, 1984) as part of a Master’s Thesis at the University of North Dakota further sampled and analyzed the Bakken and calculated hydrocarbon generation capacities to be about 92 BBbls. This data was updated by Schmoker and Hester (1983) who estimated that the Bakken was capable of generating 132 BBbls of oil in North Dakota and Montana. Price (unpublished) used a more complete database and estimated that the Bakken was capable of generating between 271 and 503 BBbls of oil with an average of 413 BBbls."

Why have we not heard about this from the "lamestream media"? Another claim is that we have more untapped oil resources in the northwestern United States than exists in ALL of the OPEC nations combined! WHY ARE WE NOT DRILLING?? Apparently somebody wants us to be dependent upon high-priced foreign oil imports... I wonder who that could be?

It's our government, that's who it is!

And why were no Republicans, or even moderate Democrats, invited to the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference? Nazi Pelosi took herself and 20 other hardcore, party-line quoting Dems on that so-called "working/job creating" trip.

So much for the "transparent Obama administration". You can't see into it for all the smoke and mirrors!

The GOOD NEWS IS: Dems Doing Everything They Can To Give Away The House and Senate in 2010!

Well, the Obama governmental fiasco continues. It's just one thing after another: government bailouts, government controlled healthcare, government controlled industry, government controlled lending, government caps on executive salaries (I agree with the concept of executive caps, but not by government mandate), government directed climate control, government Czars (doing exactly what that isn't already under some official government directorate?), more taxes, amnesty for illegal aliens, government subsidies for ACORN and similar criminal activities, and on, and on - ad nauseum. To give you an idea...

Someone once said (this saying - one with which we are all familiar - has been attributed to many different people, including Samuel Johnson), "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." And, I suppose, there are many instances in which that has been true... but NOT in the case of the Obama administration! Obama and his minions in the White House staff, Cabinet and Congress are intentionally leading our country into socialist/Marxist ruination. There were no "good intentions" in Obama's being rude to the Queen of England during his first State visit to the UK. There were no "good intentions" in borrowing money from communist China to attempt to stop our economy from bleeding green! There were no "good intentions" in Obama's World Apology Tour! There were no "good intentions" in Obama's deference to Arabic leaders, and his submissive bow to Emperor Hirohito of Japan! And there are no "good intentions" in the Democrats plans for universal, government controlled health care! There are no "good intentions" in mass amnesty for as many as twenty million illegal aliens, who will further drain our welfare, social security and Medicare coffers by increasing the already unsustainable strain upon them! These are all well-planned moves to increase our dependency upon the government. Nobody wants these things except those who will profit from them! Our government has left "the road to hell", and now has us on the fast track to hell.

"Redistribution of wealth" is not an American concept. In our Democratic Republic, your "fare share" is the end result of what you have contributed your talents, labors and expertise to earn. You union lovers who think redistribution of wealth is a good idea, apparently believe you will be exempt from contributing to that redistribution. The on-going greed of the labor unions, and your excessive wages have greatly assisted in the creation of the unsatisfactory financial condition our country is now in! (Perhaps Obama has promised the SEIU special dispensation from increased taxes to support his liberal give away programs. These mandated taxes will be dumped into expanded social[ist] programs and increased benefits and pay raises for our worthless Congress.) Anybody who believes that you can expand social programs in an already financially and morally bankrupt government without increasing taxes is a fool. Where would you think the money comes from? The government doesn't have a paper route, or retail kiosks in the local Malls. The government has no income producing job other than collecting money from We the People - those of us who actually perform physical or intellectual labor for our hard-earned money. We are rapidly becoming a...


The Obama administration has created a multitude of distractions in an attempt to keep Americans from discovering what the subterfuge is actually hiding. The more balls he can keep in the air for us to watch, the easier it will be for him - and his masters - to destroy our intended form of government. Who is "The Great and Powerful Oz" anyway? Who is the puppet master behind the scenes? Is Obama himself truly the mastermind of our destruction? There are any number of individuals, organizations and governments who desire to see the United States of America implode. Surprisingly, even those who have become extremely wealthy under our existing system, such as the ultra-left George Soros, and the majority of the Screen Actors Guild. Then there's the United Nations, and any country that is envious or resentful of our previously unheard of success in slightly over 200 years (like Cuba, most of the countries below our southern border, and the Arab nations). This administration is selling us out at every opportunity.


If you can judge a man's character by the company he keeps, simply open your eyes and look at what Obama has chosen to surround himself with - Communists, Marxists, socialists, and assorted revolutionaries and terrorists! Where are the "checks and balances" to keep the government from running roughshod over the desires and needs of the citizenry?

BUT... Obama is not doing all this by himself. He has the full cooperation of the Democratically-controlled House and Senate, so let's get rid of them all! Eleven months from now the majority of the House and 35 Senators will be up for re-election. That will be the time for them to experience the quiet wrath of the American people... in the voting booth!

American Civil War II - It Could Happen... or It Could Not Happen

It's almost like watching somebody trying to open the puzzle box from the movie Hellraiser. As each piece is moved into the correct configuration position, you can feel the energy change and become almost palpable... and you know that something evil is about to happen.

Those pieces are in motion as a complicit Congress continues to work against the expressed will of the people, and in continued support of a "President" who appears to be concerned about only one thing - increasing his power to control the citizens of the USA through expanded government control of goods and services. Your President now has 37 unelected "Czars", who have gone through no vetting process by the Senate, and are answerable only to the POTUS. Most people probably haven't really thought about this, but I would guess that the position of Czar pays significantly more than minimum wage, and that each Czar will have a staff of... ohhhh, let's be conservative and say 10 people. That increases the size - and cost - of government by 407 people. And these "Czars" seem to have no more qualifications for the political plums they have been given by Obama than do any of his other appointees. But, why should we expect that they would have qualifications, when the President himself doesn't have any qualifications for his job?

The time of "Civil War II" seems to be rapidly approaching. What influences have created this condition?
1. The election of a left-wing/Marxist/socialist/communist/anti-American "President" with no qualifications other than his personal charisma and his ability to read from a teleprompter. Congratulations America - you've done a bang-up job in electing your new leader... I hope the White House has a good On-the-Job Training program! (Please do not ignore the intentional sarcasm)
2. The decimation of our financial infrastructure by a Congress that directed mortgage lenders to loan money (at ridiculously low interest rates) to people who obviously could not afford to repay those loans. Thank you Barney Frank, et al!
3. The highest unemployment rate since the era of the Great Depression. Double-digit unemployment across the country, with some areas reaching 16% and more (like Michigan).
4. Financial bail outs of companies and corporations whose business was purportedly that of managing money! If they couldn't do it properly, then why are we, the taxpayers, giving them more hundreds of billions of tax dollars to keep playing with? They FAILED in their responsibility to their stockholders, and to the public in general. And our government lawyers apparently failed to put any restrictions upon the improper use of those funds. What they should have gotten is tarred and feathered!
5. A $60 million grant to the National Endowment for the Arts with no restrictions upon its use. So, what's the first thing they do with it? Put on a live stage porn show!
6. Your "President" travels the world apologizing for the United States, instead of reciting the list of good that we have done for most of the rest of the world.
7. The government has insinuated itself even deeper into the direct control of industry and finance, and is now working on grabbing control of nationwide health care services. (Euthanasia is not referring to teenyboppers in Thailand - it means when you reach a certain age, be prepared for your government to take steps to "assist" you in ending your life.)
8. The creation of special protections - beyond those guaranteed to all by our Constitution - for particular groups. Groups who are apparently considered more than "equal".
9. The appointment of 37 "Czars" (and their attendant staff members) within an already cash-strapped government system. Of course nobody is recognizing and reporting this for what it truly is - political cronyism.
10. Passing legislation that nobody (with the possible exception of its creator, and possibly not even them) has read! (But the legislation doesn't sound too bad, and it makes Obama feel good.)
11. It is also obvious that our government does not care one iota about what "We the People" want. Our elected officials are too busy insuring that their political party and the corporate lobbyists get what they want!

The list of reasons for social unrest could go on and on. These simply skim the surface by identifying the most obvious reasons. Think of a few of your own dislikes about the path along which your current federal administration is racing. Why did I choose the word "racing" there? Because Obama knows that if he slows down even a bit, even the true dullards of the country would eventually catch on to what it is he's really trying to do!

What influences are apt to circumvent a second Civil War?
1. The initial reluctance of Americans to do battle against other Americans. We are basically a caring people, and see violence only as the "court of last resort"... like if our Constitution were in jeopardy... which it appears to be.
2. Our tendency to disbelieve that our elected government would do anything that ran counter to the best interests of the American citizens. We cling to the ever-dwindling hope that there are still a few people in Congress who are honest, and will refuse to rubber stamp bills without first having an opportunity to read and understand those bills.
3. The fact that, if we were to engage in such a civil war, our enemies in the world - and there are legions of them - would be on us like white on rice (or black on a bowling ball - your choice)! What better time to eliminate those with whom you are in strong political, moral (i.e. - religious) and philosophical disagreement than when they are engaged in internal hostilities? (The million dollar question then becomes; "Could we reconcile our internal differences in time to repel such an attack?" or would we all become subjects of yet another kind of ruling party?)

I'm sure there are many more ways to avoid a "civil" war (talk about your oxymorons!) within our national boundaries, but my mind is weary now, so I'm going to stop thinking about the subject for awhile... and go clean my guns.

I suppose I could be entirely wrong about this, but in this world there is very little that is completely outside the realm of possibility.
